Народ јато птица ни стадо
што се сели са југа на север није
Људске хорде што лутају ваздан
народ нису и не могу никад бити

Док у поља и шуме и мора
поколења не засеју кости
попут бујице тутњаће људи
која никада реком не поста

С једног краја млеко пију
другом тела предају
Само пути очињи им остају

Зато узмите земљу своју рукама својим
јер та груда на длану - она земља је сва,
нека народ је држи јер са њоме је народ, а без ње
вечни збег и лутање

Као жена, и земља је оног
чије семе је плоди и којем рађа,
Ал' се не да на путе да носи
блискост иште и верност још она тражи

Који руши и пљачка је, пали,
право нема да име јој дадне
Људи народом земље су онда
Када сеју и кад почну жњети

Када земље млеко пију,
кад јој тела предају,
када име своје земљи надену

Зато узмите земљу своју рукама својим

People is not a flock of birds nor sheep
that migrates northwards with seasons
Hordes of men which wander forever
are not people nor will they ever be

Until they saw the field and forests
and the seas with their bones
people will thunder like a flood
which will never become a river

They drink on one end (of the world)
they lay their bodies to rest on the other
Only roads are their ancestors' legacy

Take some earth of your land with your hands
for that lump on your palm - that is whole of the land,
may the people hold it for it makes it a people,
and without it they are eternal wanderers

Just like a woman, a land belongs to the one
whose seed fertilizes it and to whom it bores,
But unlike a woman you cannot take it with you, for it requires closeness and fidelity

Those that destroy and pillage the land
have no right to give the land their name
Humans are only people
once they start to work the land and harvest it

Only when they drink the milk of the land
when they give their bodies unto it
when they give it their name
